Does Arsenal really need a center back?

Chris Smalling and Simon Kjaer have been linked with a move to Arsenal. With Arsene Wenger signing  a new two year deal to stay at Arsenal the Frenchman is in the transfer market to bolster his squad for the 2017/18 Premier League season. However with the current Arsenal squad, where are these two defenders going to fit in if the news are true? The central defense position in the Gunners squad seemed to be too heavy and occupied for any addition. With players like Rob Holding who has been in a scintillating form, Laurent Koscielny, Mustafi,  Gabriel, Per Mertsacker.

If this kind of deal is going to pull through Arsene Wenger is going to be in a selection dilemma and not only that he will be in trouble with the fans. Arsenal fans are not looking forward for the gaffer to strengthen in that position. With news linking Arsenal with Lyon striker Alexander Lacazette Arsenal fans are gazing closely to many media reports linking to the deal of lacazette. With Lyon President  Aulas being reported that he  was in London to finalise Lacazette deal it look like things are happening now at Arsenal and the fans are going to be buoyed with this development and hopefully Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidi will pull the deal through.

Just In: Alex Telles: Manchester United defender tests Positive for Coronavirus

Telles, who joined United from Porto on a four-year contract earlier this month, did not feature in the  5-0 Champions League win  over RB Leipzig on Wednesday. The Old Trafford club tweeted: "We wish him a speedy recovery and a swift return to the group." The 27-year-old defender will now self-isolate for a period of 10 days. United Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær made Telles one of his new-season signings for a fee of 15m euros (£13.6m), plus 2m euros in add-ons. The Brazilian impressed on his debut for the club in the  2-1 win over Paris-St German  in the Champions League but was left out of the squad for last weekend's  0-0 draw with Chelsea  in the Premier League.

A Real Shame: Mesut Özil Saga Rages On

By Richard C. Banda  Let’s discuss about Mesut Özil, a World Cup Winner, the King of Assists an exceptional player who deservedly earned a contract at the Emirates. Even though that might be the case, Özil has been on the back foot failing to find the right form and the much needed consistent since.   Amid all the ups and downs in the football world with the global pandemic still with us. The big talking point in European football has been about Özil. Ever since his contract extension at Arsenal, it seems like a lot have changed.   If we look closely at the Mesut Özil situation, his saga started when Unai Emery was still at the man in charge at Arsenal. We can all go all guns blazing at the current manager Mikel Arteta, but Özil was already out of the picture way before Arteta came in.   In November 2018, Arsenal played some dismal and unconvincing 1-1 draw at home to Wolverhampton. The following match Unai Emery switched to a 3 at the back formation, these tac...

A Stuttering Europa Win for Arsenal, As Spurs Slumber

By Richard C. Banda Arsenal took more than half an hour to test Dundalk goalkeeper Gary Rogers in a 3-0 win at the Emirates on Thursday night Europa League group stage encounter. Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock and Nicolas Pepe found the back of the net for the Gunners in what proved to be an unconvincing win for Mikel Arteta’s side. Reiss Nelson’s corner kick gave Eddie Nketiah a brilliant chance to step in the box and stamp a simple tap-in from a close range, before Willock put Arsenal on the driving seat with a 2-0 victory before the break. Nicolas Pepe buried the game with a stunning strike to put the Gunners on a firing front. Even though Arsenal found the back of the net three time. Their perfomacne was not really convincing considering the number of shots they had on goal and how they dominated possession. Player ratings Arsenal:  Runarsson (6), Cedric (6), Mustafi (6), Xhaka (6), Kolasinac (7), Maitland-Niles (5), Willock (8), Elneny (6), Pepe (7), Nketiah (6), N...
